BREEAM PROJECTS
Within the pollution section of BREEAM, there is a section “Impact of refrigerant”.
This section is intended to encourage the use of systems that use refrigerants, that will cause minimum damage to the environment, should they accidentally get released to atmosphere. It is possible to score up to 2 credits in this section.
2 points can be achieved by using a refrigerant which has a global warming potential (GWP) ≤ 10.
For space heating we provide propane heat pumps which have a GWP of 3 and for domestic hot water we provide C02 heat pumps which have a GWP of 1.
All of the heat pumps below use refrigerant with a GWP ≤ 10.
Heat Pumps for Space Heating
The HERA range of air source heat pumps, are a great solution for projects where refrigerant GWP needs to be ultra low. HERA units have sophisticated safety features to allow propane gas to be used as refrigerant.
The York YAS range uses R290 (propane refrigerant). This makes them especially suitable for BREEAM projects or sites where the end user wants to future proof their buildings.
Heat Pumps for Hot Water
The Airheat range of CO2 air source heat pumps is specifically designed to heat domestic hot water. Unlike conventional heat pumps, CO2 heat pumps are most efficient with a large delta T. This makes them perfect for heating mains potable water from 10-65 or 70degrees.
The Yukon range of CO2 heat pump are completely unique and offer unrivalled efficacy for heating domestic hot water. These are the ultimate solution for applications where DHW is required, at the same time as chilled water. Available in 4 pipe or 6 pipe variants, they can produce 2 different temperature’s of hot water and chilled water simultaneously.
The EKO range of water to water heat pumps, use propane refrigerant and can heat water up to 60degrees. They use water as their heat source, so can be connected to a tempered water loop or ground bore holes/slinky’s.
The Geoheat range of water to water heat pumps, use CO2 refrigerant and can heat water up to 75degrees. They use water as their heat source, so can be connected to a tempered water loop or ground bore holes/slinky’s.
OUR PARTNERS
Commercial buildings in the UK have vastly different heating and hot water requirements; New-build and existing buildings
big and small all require different heat pumps solutions. We provide heat pumps from multiple manufactures to allow
us to help you select the most suitable solution for your heating or hot water requirements.
