Heat pumps for domestic hot water

Most hot water applications require hot water, at a water temperature between 65 and 70°C .

The ultimate solution for heating hot water is using C02 refrigerant heat pumps.  C02 heat pumps are most efficient when heating with a large delta T of 55degrees and so are perfect for heating domestic hot water from mains temperature up to 65°C – 70°C.

Conventional low temperature heat pumps, can be used to pre-heat hot water but will require an immersion heater to lift the temperature for pasteurisation purposes. Conventional high temperature units, can heat to the higher temperatures but are not terribly efficient while doing so.

Our selection of heat pumps for heating domestic hot water are below:

High Efficiency C02 Heat Pumps

The Airheat range of CO2 air source heat pumps is specifically designed to heat domestic hot water. Unlike conventional heat pumps, CO2 heat pumps are most efficient with a large delta T. This makes them perfect for heating mains potable water from 10-65 or 70degrees.

The Yukon range of CO2 heat pump are completely unique and offer unrivalled efficacy for heating domestic hot water. These are the ultimate solution for applications where DHW is required, at the same time as chilled water. Available in 4 pipe or 6 pipe variants, they can produce 2 different temperature’s of hot water and chilled water simultaneously.

Conventional Heat Pumps

The YLZ range of heat pumps provide hot water up to 65°C for space heating. As well as the heating only variant, the YLZ can be provided as a 4 pipe system simultaneously producing chilled and hot water.

The AMICHI range of air source heat pumps, are perfect for space heating. Up to 32 units can function as one system, with weather compensation and Bacnet/Modbus BMS integration as standard.
