HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT PUMPS FOR EXISTING BUILDINGS
Working with low water temperatures is a challenge for many existing UK commercial buildings.
Much of the building stock is aged, has poor insulation values and have thermal breaks in their construction, making them leak heat.
To add to the challenge, almost all of these buildings have heating infrastructure (pipework and heat emitters/radiators), which has been designed to work with fossil fuel heating systems, which generally produce water between 60 and 80°C. If a heat pump is required for this type of building, an assessment should be done to see if the building and heating infrastructure can be replaced/improved to allow the installation of a low temperature heat pump system.
If it is impossible un-economical to do so, a high temperature heat pump could be the solution, the following heat pumps have been selected for this scenario.
The YLZ range of heat pumps provide hot water up to 65°C for space heating. As well as the heating only variant, the YLZ can be provided as a 4 pipe system simultaneously producing chilled and hot water.
The S-80 range of heat pumps is suitable for small to medium sized applications and can provide hot water up to 80°C. Up to 8 units can be manifolded together as a cascade system providing up to 128kW of hot water for space heating.
The EKO range of water to water heat pumps, use low GWP (3) propane refrigerant and can heat water up to 60degrees. They use water as their heat source, so can be connected to a tempered water loop or ground bore holes/slinky’s.
The Yukon range of CO2 heat pumps offer a completely unique solution for space heating existing buildings. The water to water heat pump can be provided with a dry air cooled or can be connected to a ground source loop. The Yukon can be used a standalone heating system, for existing buildings which have a heating system which requires a 30°C+ delta T. Good efficiencies are realised when there is a simultaneous cooling load.
OUR PARTNERS
Commercial buildings in the UK have vastly different heating and hot water requirements; New-build and existing buildings
big and small all require different heat pumps solutions. We provide heat pumps from multiple manufactures to allow
us to help you select the most suitable solution for your heating or hot water requirements.
